In April, 1987, Mamre, Inc., was established as the fundraising organization for SPRED for the purpose of providing money for education and salaries for SPRED workers. The major effort of SPRED Community Religious Workers (CRWs) is to help parishes establish SPRED communities of faith for persons with disabilities who live apart from their families. Fundraising events .(such as the Annual Dinner Dance and incredible evenings of Irish Dancing) hosted by SPRED volunteers and appeal letters raise money for this aspect of SPRED ministry.

In 1994, the Mamre board committed itself to financially supporting the development of SPRED Ministry in parishes with Spanish speaking families. All SPRED publications, training materials and catechetical sessions are translated into Spanish to support the development of SPRED communities of faith in Latino parishes.
